Cyberattacks Increase By 38 Percent – How Can Hiring Help?

Global cyberattacks increased by 38% in 2022, compared to 2021, according to Check Point Research. In 2022, Professional Services and Financial Services were listed in the Kroll top five impacted sectors for cybersecurity incident response cases with the highest most common cyberthreat reported as Email Compromise (33%) and Ransomware (32%), whilst Unauthorized Access and Web Compromise incidents saw an increase in percentage that surpassed their 2021 numbers.

With so many attackers, no industry or market segment can afford to be complacent with the ongoing monitoring of their internal infrastructure. The threat of cyberattacks can be reduced by implementing strong security measures such as multi-factor authentication, encryption, regular security updates, and employee training on cybersecurity best practices. Additionally, conducting regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and addressing them promptly can also help to prevent cyberattacks.
