Responsibilities

As the CRO, you will play a pivotal role in our leadership team, ensuring that the LTL meet their regulatory obligations and act in the best interests of the taxpayer. You will oversee the risk and compliance, holding the SMF 16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (Money Laundering Officer) functions, and have a direct line to the board. This is an opportunity to shape the business through the development of a governance and risk management framework, reflecting the growing maturity of the organisation.

 

  • Developing the risk management framework to reflect the growing maturity of the business and partnering with senior stakeholders to ensure that it is fully embedded.
  • Advising on compliance issues and acting as SMF 16 & 17 under the Senior Managers Regime, ensuring collective understanding and adherence to all regulatory requirements across the business, subsidiaries and investment mandates.
  • Working with investment and finance teams as well as external third parties to develop and maintain the highest standards of transparency, objectivity and insight in internal and external reporting, including filing of regulatory returns and disclosures.
  • Providing pragmatic, risk based advice for the development of all new products and services, ensuring value provided to clients is central to decision making.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a regulated business with responsibility for ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • High levels of numeracy including understanding of tools and methods for managing investment risk
  • Persuasive and confident, with the ability to represent the organization independently at board level, providing oral and written strategic advice, decision recommendations and internal guidance.
  • Knowledge of Alternative Investment Funds industry, including settlement of multi-asset transactions and applicable money laundering, terrorism financing and financial crime obligations.
